Diesel Generators New Zealand (DGNZ) operates a fleet of mobile service vehicles across the greater Auckland and North Island area. With workshops based in Silverdale and East Tamaki, our team of qualified diesel engineers and electricians brings decades of hands-on power generation experience to every job.
We offer a comprehensive and competitively priced mobile generator servicing, testing and repair service. We pride ourselves on our quality and professional workmanship and look forward to working with you.
The Crew
The Team Behind DGNZ
Lawrence heads up the six-man and one office lady crew. He holds a practicing license from the Electrical Workers Registration Board and is a formally trained Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic/Machinist, and Systems Engineer with over 30 years of power generation experience in designing, building, installing, testing and maintaining reciprocating DIESEL, IFO and HFO generators and associated fuel systems and electrical equipment.
The crew at DGNZ are highly experienced, having worked in military, industrial, commercial, food and beverage, mining and oil & gas installations in southern and east Africa, Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific islands and beyond.
We also work alongside the Silverdale generator guru and his older electrical engineer colleague — together they have forgotten more about electricity and generators than the new generation knows cumulatively. We don’t keep the old guys on to work; we keep them on to train the young ones, because once they are gone, so is all that knowledge.

DGNZ has operated across some of the world’s most demanding environments. Our largest project is a 15MW synchronous, prime power diesel station in the West Australian iron ore Pilbara region. We specialise in remote and mountain work — if you need a helicopter or 4×4 to reach it, call us.
